It grows stronger and better with each passing day, As we grow older and grayer we know our love is here to stay. Over time we have learnt to forgive one another without delay. With each other there is love, joy, hope and never wordplay.
Together we have experienced much joy and sorrow, And placed a lot of our hopes on tomorrow. Never do we give into woe, Nor do we ever allow ourselves to wallow.
And although some of our dreams have come and gone, We sit in our chairs and lookout across the lawn. Trying very hard not to yawn, We watch and wait for a new dawn.
For each day brings a new beginning, And our lives are far from ending. Looking at the sunlight beaming, We know God's love is redeeming.
So, when you see some old couple holding hands, And they smile and look down at their wedding bands. Know this, my friend, their love for each other over the years expands, And together they didn't make too many demands.
